Engineering Featured Project

The $4.5 million extension of Westside Boulevard from Martin Luther King Boulevard to the Equity Bridge on La. 311 was complete at the end of October 2016. The project was originally scheduled for completion in January 2017, but was finished 91 days ahead of schedule, even with 70 days of inclement weather. This project includes a divided four-lane roadway with a grass median, turn lanes, a 4-foot wide bike path, and Terrebonne Parish’s first roundabout where the road connects with the portion of the extension off the Equity Bridge. The roundabout is intended to keep traffic moving at all times, which would reduce congestion and collisions.
