Planning Featured Project

A study was conducted to identify areas of Olde Towne Slidell where parking problems existed and sites within the study area that could be enhanced by sidewalk and/or gateway treatment, landscaping, street furniture, signage improvements, and lighting. The goal was to improve the function and look of the area, making it more attractive to pedestrians and business growth without adversely impacting parking needs and traffic flow. Alternatives were recommended to improve parking and enhance appearance of the study area. Study information was mapped in a GIS format on a block-by-block basis. Providence also completed a conceptual layout of the project and received grant funding for construction.
