Drainage Diversion Canal, West Baton Rouge Parish
Providence is assisting in the preparation of an application to the Louisiana Office of Community Development’s Disaster Recovery Unit (ODC-DRU) for funding under the Hurricanes Gustav and Ike Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Recovery Program. The project requires professional engineering services for construction of a 3,700 foot diversion canal connected to the Intracoastal Waterway to improve storm water drainage from northern sections of West Baton Rouge Parish.
The scope of work includes: preparation of boundary maps and legal descriptions of each parcel to be acquired if property/servitude/rights-of-way acquisition is required to facilitate the project; assistance assembling a construction bid package conforming to applicable CDBG-DRU requirements and consisting of the supervision of bid advertisements, tabulation and the award process; assistance conducting pre-construction conferences; field-staking, on-site construction oversight and preparation of inspection reports; review, approval and submission of all contractor requests for payment to the parish; provision of reproducible plan drawings upon project completion; permitting; final inspection/testing; and submission of certified as-built drawings to the appropriate state agency.
