Hurricane Damage Inspections 37 Affected Parishes, Louisiana Property Evaluations and Inspection Team Training
Providence was selected to be part of the original group of consultants forming the Louisiana Road Home Project Team serving the Louisiana Office of Community Development and citizens affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The project included performing over 60,000 home evaluations (more than half of the total properties damaged). Our firm was also responsible for training all inspectors during both the pilot and full phases of the project. Essential sections of this training continued for over 300 inspectors.
Providence coordinated over 50 home evaluators in the field and, based on work orders from the Project Manager, performed approximately 400 home inspections per day during an intense three-month period. We coordinated a quality control team, prepared detailed reports on each structure, including photographs, and used the data to help compile a fully searchable database. Being a performance-based contract, our firm received more work orders than the five other inspection companies combined.
